So many people believe in the idea of soul mates. You'll find this notion on the silver screen, in fairytales, and now CrownRing wedding band jewelry designers found out even in research labs. There was a study done several years ago that evaluated the impact of a belief in romantic destiny (soul mates) on the quality of actual relationships. More specifically comparing relationships of those who believe in soul mates with those who believe in relationship growth (believing that relationship are developed with work over time). CrownRing wedding band jewelers learned that 73% of Americans believe that they are destined to find their one, true, soul mate. What's surprising is that the percentage is a bit higher for men at 74% than women at 71%.

Clearly, the notion of the perfect soul mate is very well alive, with most people holding onto it. But, which belief system actually translates to a happily ever after lifestyle? Romantic destiny or romantic growth? CrownRing wedding band designers found out that, according to the research (generally), people who believe in soul mates primarily look for positive emotional reactions and compatibility. Those are the individuals that are always seeking that "click", that we're-meant-to-be feeling. If they don't have those initial reactions, they tend to move on and continue looking for their soul mate.

On the other hand, people who believe in romantic growth primarily look for someone who will work and grow with them, resolving conflicts as they come up. The CrownRing wedding band manufacturers learned that these types of people tend to be less passionate and satisfied with partners at first. The intensity is dialed down, but the relationships tend to be longer and more satisfying over time. Also, if problems arise, the partners are more motivated to solve them and stay committed to each other.

Given the research that's available, if someone is looking for an intense relationship, possible short-term, believing in soul mates serves them well. But, if you're looking for more of a long-term commitment and a true partner in life, believing in romantic growth and working on conflicts as they arise is a better belief system. CrownRing wedding band designers realize no one person is perfect, and sticking together to work things through even when you feel the magic is gone, can really give you what you want in the end.
